The Galway Hooker, Húicéir is a traditional Irish fishing boat made in the West of Ireland for use in Galway Bay. The Hooker was made and designed for the strong seas of the Atlantic. Traditionally the boat is black and the sails are a dark red-brown. Although traditionally made for fishing the Galway Hooker is now used as a leisure craft. The skills of boat builders and sailing crews can now be celebrated during the various Summer Regattas around Galway, such as Cruinniú na mBád and Lá Fhéile Mhic Dara.
In honor of these majestic sail boats, our master craftsman has made this beautiful Tie Pin handmade from 9K yellow gold. Instantly recognizable as the Galway Hooker, it has a strong sharp bow, sides that curve outwards and one main sail with two forsails all on a single mast.
This exquisite handmade Tie Pin would make an excellent choice of gift for anyone with a love of sailing or for those with an appreciation of the mastercraftsmen of our Irish Heritage.
