St Brigid’s Day is celebrated February 1st, which is traditionally the beginning of spring in Ireland. One of the most common traditions of the day is to make a Saint Brigid’s Cross from fresh rushes and have it blessed. Some believe that the crosses have the power to protect the owner’s home from harm.
